Segare Anak Lake
Segara anak lake is a crater lake formed in the caldera of Mount Rinjani which has an altitude of 3775 meters above the sea level, located on Lombok Island. The lake located at an altitude of approximately 2000 meters above sea level, precisely in Sembalun Lawang village, Sembalun District, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, with an area of Ă¢€‹Ă¢€‹about 1,100 ha with a depth of 230 m.
The name of Segara Anak means a child of the sea in a part of the sea believed to be divided into an island. It is on top of the underlying color of the water is blue like the sea. The scenery of the lake was so amazing and very beautiful, so that’s why there are many foreign and domestic travelers flock to Mount Rinjani to witness the beauty of the lake. In the middle of the lake, formed a cone called Mt.Baru jari /a new Mount which is the son of Rinjani mountain and the nearby area there is hot springs that are believed to cure various skin diseases. Mount Baru Jari has a height of about 2,376 meters above the sea level. Visitors who come to this lake not only come to enjoy the natural beauty of the lake, but also for fishing in the lake because there are a lot of fish.
In the camp area, near from Segara Anak lake, there is an old tree sacred by the locals. It is said that the intermediary tree is believed that what we want can come true. Myths that developed in the local community that if you have a desire that has not had time to come true it was a stone hanging on the tree and say your liking. If your desire is reached, then you have to release immediately the stone you have been hang. According to local people, if you do not restore the stone then the desire that you have achieved will back away.
